Whew, I have been trying for days to get this typed up and published on the site. So much going
on. I swear as I get older it seems like there are less and less hours in a day. Is that the same for y’all to? One day, I was taking Sparkle to the back of the building to do her duty and there
were no leaves on any trees, it seems the very next day, the trees in the back had all their buds open and the new leaves were everywhere. I love Spring, it is my absolute favorite time of the year.
It seems lately I have been putting out one fire and before it is out there is another started. When
we moved to our new location we thought that all of our electrical/computer problems would disappear. They did, for about two weeks!! The last class schedule was a breeze, was able to put the pictures in as you all have requested, been able to post it myself, and then the next day we couldn’t do anything. After Orli, our wonderful IT guy came to the shop so many times, we thought he should have learned to knit with all the times he has been here, we traced the internet/computer problems to our UVerse Router. Wouldn’t you know, something totally beyond our control. Once that was replaced, we could access the internet again, post pictures and go on with business. Of course, it didn’t end there. We upgraded our financial program and promptly lost everything. Let me just tell you how stressful that was until Quickbooks recovered
everything to the tune of a very pretty penny. And so on and so on and so on. Let’s just say I was thrilled to turn the page on the calendar to March! Just as we get everything all fixed and back in working order, deliveries started coming in.
Yes, the fabulous scarf yarns are all in stock at this moment. We have already placed our reorders. There should be enough for everyone now. Whoever would have guessed that a little
ruffley scarf could create such frenzy, everyone seems to want one, young, elderly and everyone in between. The non knitters and crocheter’s are begging their knitting/crocheting friends to make them one, and there are so many to choose from now. We have Ric Rac and Lacey from Berroco, we have Flora, Marina and Spectra from Universal and Joy Metallic from Plymouth. The two from Berroco are the fastest to knit up. I knit the Ric Rac in 25 minutes tops, the Lacey takes about 40 minutes and the rest take 2-3 hours.
Our Class Schedule has posted!
http://yhclasses.blogspot.com/ Classes are listed all the way to and including June. I must say so myself, we have an awesome class schedule. I think there is something for everyone. Please sign up early as our classes do fill pretty quickly. We would like to do a Monday afternoon class
on the Diagonal Matrix Vest. Brenda did a fabulous job making the shop model. This is knit out of Jojoland Superwash Rhythm and the detail on the back is just gorgeous. If you think you would be interested in a Monday class with Brenda, please email or call the shop. We are thinking of starting it Monday March 20, $45.00 1pm to 3:30pm.
What’s coming you might be asking yourselves, well I have a great answer. New colors in Sea Silk, Sea Sock, Maiden Hair and Silk Maiden! I LOVE these yarns. The great part is I have been asked several times for bright colors, so I called and spoke with the dyers of the yarn and they are making a beautiful Barbie pink, a vibrant blue and a lovely lavender, all solids, than I ask for those three colors to be combined into one skein, can you imagine it? I can’t wait to get it. Just in time for the lace scarf class which will make a delightful scarf for your mother as a Mother’s Day Gift. Already know how to do lace, wouldn’t a Sea Silk scarf be gorgeous with your Easter
outfit. The possibilities are endless!
There are two new patterns that have come in that I am chopping at the bit to make. My friend
Judy Williams is knitting up the shop model for the Swag Vest, so cute! Yarn recommended Jojoland Rhythm Superwash, a great self striping yarn. The vest is knit in one piece to the armholes, but it is the detail at the top of the vest that makes you want to knit it. I see a July/August class for this vest. Since Judy was such a good sport about knitting this up for me, it frees me up to knit the Milanese Wrap (which a class is scheduled already for this awesome
item), another Jojoland pattern, knit as a rectangle, with many different pattern stitches and a little sewing turns it into a long Shrug that covers your back, it is very roomy and great to wear with just about everything!
Just taking a minute here to send good thoughts to a few of our friends who are fighting serious medical conditions, Jean Carter, we miss you and hope you are feeling better soon, keep up the fight! Jan Rios, has been in my life since the first year of the store. I have been lucky enough to meet her entire family, including her twin in California. Jan is fighting for her life, her body has
lost it’s immune system and she has been fighting an infection for over a year now and she needs all of our positive thoughts. My wonderful friend Mavis Parson from Illinois lost her brother here in Arlington recently and sadly I will miss him bringing his yorkie to see Sparkle. Our
good thoughts are with you Mavis and here is a huge hug from Texas!
Last but not least, we invite you all to join us for Therapy Thursday. Be prepared for laughter! We have such a lovely group of ladies, and I thank each and every one of you for the joy you bring into my life.
